چکیده

We study the dynamics of a Hamiltonian system of N classical spins with infiniterange interaction. We present numerical results which confirm the existence of metaequilibrium Quasi Stationary States (QSS), characterized by non-Gaussian velocity distributions, anomalous diffusion, Lévy walks and dynamical correlation in phase-space. We show that the Termodynamic Limit (TL) and the Infinite-Time Limit (ITL) do not commute. Moreover, if the TL is taken before the ITL the system does not relax to the Boltzmann-Gibbs equilibrium, but remains in this new equilibrium state where nonextensive thermodynamics seems to apply.

Glassy dynamics and nonextensive effects in the HMF model : the importance of initial conditions

In this work we discuss glassy dynamics and nonextensive thermodynamics in the context of the so called Hamiltonian Mean Field (HMF) model, a system of inertial spins with long-range interaction. This model and its generalizations has been intensively investigated in the last years for its anomalous dynamical behavior.1)–13) With respect to systems with short-range interactions, the dynamics an...

Metastability and anomalous behavior in the HMF Model: connections to nonextensive thermodynamics and glassy dynamics

We review some of the most recent results on the dynamics of the Hamiltonian Mean Field (HMF) model, a systems of N planar spins with ferromagnetic infiniterange interactions. We show, in particular, how some of the dynamical anomalies of the model can be interpreted and characterized in terms of the weak-ergodicity breaking proposed in frameworks of glassy systems. We also discuss the connecti...

3 Comment on “ Nonextensive hamiltonian systems follow Boltzmann ’ s principle not Tsallis statistics - phase transition , second law of thermodynamics ” by Gross

Recently, Gross claims that Boltzmann entropy S = k lnW is valid for any system at equilibrium, so that Tsallis entropy is useless in this case. I comment on some arguments forwarded to reach this conclusion and argue that the additive energy formalism of nonextensive statistics is not appropriate for the fundamental study of the theory for nonadditive systems. Field - Theoretical Methods and Nonextensive Systems

The Boltzmann-Gibbs statistical mechanics and the standard thermodynamics are very useful in the discussion of extensive systems. However, they are not good to study situations where nonextensive e ects occur, for instance, systems involving long-range interactions (e. g., d = 3 gravitation)[1, 2], long-range microscopic memory[3], and systems with a relevant (multi)fractal-like structure. On t...
